Tribute & Message From The Family

Beloved wife, Cherished Mother, Devoted Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Rosemary by adding your memories and photos.

ROSEMARY A. CALE, age 89, beloved wife for 54 years of Robert H. Cale, cherished mother of Donna-Rae Smith (husband Edward), Deborah Jo Di Fiore (deceased) (husband Dante) and Mark J. Hawald (wife Debbie), devoted grandmother of Maressa Kuszewski (husband Alex), Joe Hawald, Concetta Di Geronimo (husband Paolo), Brant Smith (wife Erin), Mark F. Hawald (wife Cindy), Ben Di Fiore (wife Candice), Maria Solanki (husband Varun), Francesca Calanni (husband Charlie) and great grandmother of 13. Loving Sister and Aunt.
Our family lost our beautiful matriarch--our most cherished Rosemary went home to be with God. We know she is a radiant angel now watching over us in love. Wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, great grandmother to 13… she was the heart and soul of our large family. Rosemary had a presence and a strength unparalleled. She was outstanding in so many aspects of life--fiercely strong, fiercely loving.  Stunningly elegant, she created and found beauty in everything around her. Rosemary lifted us up, spoke confidence into our lives, and made us feel so incredibly special and loved. She helped us believe we could achieve whatever we set out to do.  She touched all of our lives in a positive way. Rosemary was a true example of a woman who, time after time, when faced with hardship and difficulty, rose up in faith and with unstoppable strength, overcame and triumphed over adversity, improving herself and looking for the positives in each turn of life. Of greatest importance, she was a woman of deep faith. Our hearts weep that she has left this Earth, but we rejoice knowing she lives on eternally in peace and joy with God.
Entombment Knollwood Cemetery. It was a joy to visit Rosemary for the past several summers while staying w/ her daughter Donna Rae and son-in-law, Ed. She was so hospitable, engaging in conversation and full of love. Rosemary, as you take your place safe beyond the stars in God's embrace may we like you, "reach for the stars." Rosemary you continue to think of us, love us and remember us and in the remembering you come alive inside of us.
With my love, prayer and respect.

We are very saddened to hear of Rosemary's passing. Our deepest condolences to her dear family. We are the Cale's neighbor and over the years we have grown close to Rosemary, sharing endearing conversations and summertime walks in the neighborhood. My young boys enjoyed her kind heart and beautiful smile. She will surely be missed. We wish her family peace and healing during this time.

May God Bless you,
Paul & Jeannine Voinovich

My thoughts and prayers go out to Donna Rae and Mark and the rest of the family at this very sad time. Grandma Rosemary was a beautiful and intelligent woman who loved and adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I am a neighbor of Rosemary. Two years ago at Christmas time, I took my preschool aged daughter and her little friends Christmas caroling around the neighborhood. We knocked on the Cale door. Rosemary answered and was so delighted to see and hear carols from these young children. Her eyes sparkled and was full of Christmas joy AND then she joined in singing! It was wonderful! After the song, she ran inside and came back with candy canes for my daughter and her friends. It was truly a sweet memory with Rosemary. God bless you all during this time mourning.

I am a cousin to Rosemary's grandchildren (Concetta, Francesca, Maria and Ben). I was saddened to hear of her passing. I always remember her as being such a sweet and kind woman every time I came to Cleveland to visit. I know she is watching everyone from Heaven with Deborah by her side. May the good memories of her comfort you all during this difficult time.

I am a friend of Rosemary's granddaughter Francesca and had the blessing of meeting her on several occasions. She had such a pretty spirit and was always dressed beautifully. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. I know she will be greatly missed, but I'm sure she is watching all over you, and that she is thrilled to be reunited with her sweet daughter Deborah. Love to you all!
